    As she use it, It is not focalised. It should be. That is why each point is large and It does not go as deep as it should.

    The thicker your facial hair, aka the wider and deeper your pores, the worse your scarring is. Hispanics and Asians get the worst acne scarring because of this.

    @DaveFoster143Records Why?

  13. lasertreatments March 21, 2010 at 4:35 pm #

    Blowing cold air over an ablative laser reduces its effect. However, some studies intimate that the use of concurrent intra-operative cold-air cooling yielded little to no difference in terms of the efficacy of the laser treatment and the resolution of underlying wrinkles. Local anaesthesia is considered the norm.

    Recovery from AFX takes about five to seven days depending on the depth of penetration. The excess skin does not really come off as you have skin bridges left behind.

    I meant 4% hydroquinone for one a month prep to reduce the possibility of PIH. It would have little if no effect on scars, superficial or otherwise.

  16. Hangel2345 March 21, 2010 at 5:43 pm #

    Yeah, my dermatologist gave me 4% hydroquinone for my superficial acne scars and it helped quite a bit. I am only concerned about the pit scars; they are not that bad but, I want to get rid of it. I guess I could talk to my dermatologist about doing a test patch to see the results then, go from there. Thank you so much for responding!

    Your doctor is correct. Postinflammatory hyperpigmentation can occur as a result of this laser. This is more common in darker pigmented skin types as the resulting inflammation from the laser stimulates epidermal melanocytes, causing them to increase the synthesis of melanin and subsequently to increase the transfer of pigment to surrounding keratinocytes. My advice is to prep your skin with 4% Hydroquinone for 4 weeks initially and try a test patch before committing to the procedure.

    Is this safe for darker skin tones? My dermatologist said it could cause hyperpigmentation; It is a chance I just have to take. I do not know whether it’s because I live in a small town and the doctors here do not have much experience with laser therapy?? I mean, he said, it is basically only safe for Caucasians. I was like huh??? lol……..Appearently, it is done on Hispanics. I cannot tell whether this guy has a light skin tone or dark skin tone. Will someone help me out?

    I don’t know if they explain this, but they have very cold air blowing across your skin while they laser the skin.

    Acne really sucks eh. I myself suffered from acne when i was in highschool. The treatments and creams made my face dry and it got worse. I have an article about how to cure acne naturally on my profile, check it out. Don’t live your life being ashamed by your acne.
